Digital Cities

Cities are prime locations for testing new technologies: they are small enough to experiment in, but also large enough to provide meaningful samples and scale. As a result cities are the first to receive the potential benefits from new technologies.

Our work looks at how emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, robotics and automation, the internet of things and other digital developments affect how we live, work, play and organise in urban settings.

We recognise the value of new technologies and digital interventions and how they can change lives for the better. At the same time, we advocate for improving access to technologies to ensure they are available to all urban residents.
